Happiness is Key

Happiness is pure beauty
"Do all the other things, the ambitious things — travel, get rich, get famous, innovate, lead, fall in love, make and lose fortunes...but as you do, to the extent that you can, err in the direction of kindness." — George Saunders

Another beauty I had the pleasure of photography for her senior ball last weekend.

Fall time = Busy time

Mallory and Caleb 2015

I just want to let you know that...

I'm so proud of you.

I thought while I was contributing on here, I thought I'd formally introduce myself.

Hello there. My name is Sierra Myers and I have been prosuing photography for around 8 years. I started after a long battle with depression, stemming from my parens divorce. Growing up, my sisters and I were very close and even though we had cameras, we never made it a prioity to take pictures of on another. When I lost my sisters and lost contact, I had nothing other than beautiful memories and small reminders of the past. From that day on, I took photos of anything i'd wish to remember. I took photos of the sky, a butterfly, mountains and even plants. Photography has made me capture the important things in life and gave me the opportunity to save them.

I started with a AA battery operated camera then upgraded to a Canon T3 for my 16th birthday. I just recently recieved a Nikon D3500 and am still learning the ropes.

Here's to many more memories and candids.

Keep shining!

Make it work even when the weather man was wrong.

No matter where we go, the places we see and the people we meet - we will always be marked by the very foundation we grew up on.

Because its when you're driving and see something pretty its too hard to lift a big camera and stay on the road, and sometimes animals can too quick to grab the DSLR.

Drowning worms

There will be days when the fishing is better than one's most optimistic forecast, others when it is far worse.  Either is a gain over just staying home.

Horizon

“We should, all of us, be filled with gratitude and humility for our present progress and prosperity. We should be filled with awe and joy at what lies over the horizon. And we should be filled with absolute determination to make the most of it.”

Senior portraits

"Take action. Every story you've ever connected with, every leader you've ever admired, every puny little thing that you've ever accomplished is the result of taking action. You have a choice. You can either be a passive victim of circumstance or you can be the active hero of your own life."

Beach Vibes

"When anxious, uneasy and bad thoughts come, I go to the sea, and the sea drowns them out with its great wide sounds, cleanses me with its noise, and imposes a rhythm upon everything in me that is bewildered and confused."
-Maria Rilke

I've am not a fan of cigarettes, or smoking: however, I like to

You'll find luck at the end of the rainbow

"And when it rains on your parade, look up rather than down.
Without the rain there would be no rain."
-Gilbert K. Chesterton

There is so much going on in this photo, the camera is focused on the raindrops, but the your eyes are immediately drawn to the rainbow, which makes the above quote seem very fitting to me.

Burnin' up

The saturation and vibrancy in this photo really draws attention,
especially with black surrounding the flames.

This particular image reminds me of summer nights and
bonfires, causing excitement for the next
summer that is quickly approaching.

Cotton Candy Sky

I love taking picture of the sky. Sunset and sunrise are my favorite times to shoot anything, it provides the best lighting for portrait and nature, not to mention the sky itself.

Particularly in this image I liked the horizon. I like how I was able to get the most vibrant part right above the darkest part of this picture. It really grabs the attention.

Behind the lens

I am a 19 year old aspiring photographer. I have been interested in photography since I was 14. Starting with an, old flip phone, then upgrading to a digital camera and a free picnik membership, and finally purchasing my first DSLR camera. I use a Canon T31 when taking my photos. Most of the photos are taken using an 18-55m lens. I enjoy taking both landscape and portrait photography, specifically candid portraits and macro nature photos,
